Should I trade my bold 9000 for a storm 9550?
The plus sides of trading-;
More internal memory (Both flash 256mb <– Which will let me install Chinese! The bold 9000s flash mem is 128 and i dont have enough for chinese! and storage 2gb)
Bigger screen
More themes to enjoy
Better camera (3.2mp)
And a better web browser experience!

What else do you guys think is an advantage to this exchange?

Im exchanging my bold 9000 with around 150$ for the storm2. My bold is scratched up and i have replaced the trackball recently. Do you think it is worth the trade? Overall i think i should exchange since im tired of the bold and i want a change. AND the condition of the Storm 2 is scratchless.

Any opinions? :) Please let me know! : D

Help/Advice is needed ASAP!

I’m leaving for Switzerland in less than 10 hours and I needed to find a way to keep in contact with my family here in the U.S. for relatively cheap. Well I bought a plan with Skype (since I have Skype mobile on my storm) where I can make international calls for reasonable rates. Now I am afraid that my friends may call/text my phone while I’m overseas NOT using skype and rack up my Verizon bill. Is there anyway at all that I can block calls and texts from coming to my phone but not interfere with my skype mobile?

Also has anyone used Skype mobile overseas? Does it work well?

getting a memory leak all of a sudden. Drops 10-20mb throughout the day. No new apps installed, OS 713 hybrid that i’ve been using for 3 months. Battery seems to get hot also.

Anyone else have this happen very suddenly?

Recently (for the last 2 weeks) I’ve had major issues with my screen. It’ll not change the whole screen back after texting or emailing or using any app, it’ll usually just make a square (while in portrait mode), then I have to move it into Landscape mode and then back just to get the full portrait mode screen. Same thing happens with Landscape now. And I never get the full menu’s anymore…I only get like 1 or 2 choices and the rest are hidden. (I have to roll my thumb up and down just to get them to appear, or lightly tap where they’d be. I tried switching to main screen…no help.

This is really pissing me off.

Can’t wait for late November 2010 for the Windows Phone and get rid of this piece of crap.

Can anyone help me with this screen issue?

My old Storm2 worked fine when I had it connected via the headphone jack to my car stereo. When I made a call, when it was ringing, I’d click the speaker button and it would go through my car stereo.

I got my phone replaced, and now the speaker button is grayed out. I have to disconnect the cord to the headphone jack, then click on speaker, and then reconnect the cord. Not a good process while driving.

Any ideas why this is happening now?

Ok before you guys redirect me to another thread, I’ve looked at them all. The only difference here is I have DM 6, and copying the old DM 5 steps in DM 6 doesnt work. Tried the browser fix and I still dont have the browser service book. Email setup icon is also missing and that is frustrating me real bad :mad:. Can you guys please help me?!?!?!

My wife just leased a 2011 Ford Escape w/ Sync. I can sync my 9550 (OS 5.0.0.320) without any issues. She can not sync her 9550 which is running a version or 2 higher than my OS). She can sync her 9550 to a Bluetooth headset, but not the vehicle.

We know it isn’t the Escape as it syncs fine with my phone. Verizon told her they are having Bluetooth issues with later 9550 OS and her only choice is to downgrade her phone’s OS.

Any thoughts on this?

I’ve only had my S2 a couple of months. With an EOL of 10/10/10, could I get an S3 or S2 Refresh via warranty after that? How does that work? I’ve never had to replace a fone through VZW, only through Asurion. But if I told them my S2 was having problems after they scrapped it, wouldn’t they be obligated to give me the new device? Or an unlocked Torch? :D

im having problems with my browser.
when i go into the browser options and go into browser configurations, the only option in the drop down bar at the top of the screen is the HOTSPOT BROWSER option, why is this?

I had the Storm 1 on the 1st day of its release. I had the Storm 2 on the 2nd day of its release. I really liked the Blackberry platform, especially in the way it handled my email. I am VZW all the way and really liked a touch screen BB. But for my particular "wants" from a phone I was never satisfied with its performance.

In my case I am "loyal" to no particular phone manufacturer. I believe that most are reputable, and if there’s a phone out there that I feel will meet my needs I’d get it, whether it be a BB, Motorola, Samsung, LGm etc. I stay with VZW because I’ve been happy with their service and feel they have had adequate customer service.

That being said I moved onto the Droid X. 3 weeks in I couldn’t be happier as it has been the phone closest to fulfilling all of my "wants". But many of you say how happy you are with your S2. This question is NOT meant to be negative at all – it’s more of my business side of me curious about consumer thinking/needs/etc.

Forget comparing phones (hardware) because we all know with technology a new and better piece of technology seems to come out every month, whether it be Android or BB etc. What is the main reason you are sticking with your Storm 2? For instance, do you think its the best touch screen on VZW? Do you stay because of VZW? Do you love the BB platform enough not to leave it?

Side note: many years ago I had an MP3 player that wasn’t an iPod. I was **** bent on never getting an iPod because I read too much crap in the media and bought into the notion of the naysayers who hated the Apple "machine" that was "taking over the world". I read how people "hated" iTunes and would never get an iPod, and without ever seeing iTunes I hated it. Then I won an iPod (30gb video) on a radio station. I’ve never looked back. I really think the iPod/iTunes combination is the best MP3 player on the market. We could argue there are better sounding players that use different internals, but I like the overall iPod experience. My point is I wasn’t changing to Apple for what I feel in hindsight was a narrowminded reason. Are there any of you Storm 2 owners that feel that way about your S2? Do you look at the competition and "hate" it for some reason other than what the phone does?

Just installed an update for Tube Map and even though it shows in my appworld list – it’s nowhere to be found. Anyone else have this problem? Of course I’m off to London in 4 days. Thanks.

my job requires me to use Lotus Forms Viewer 3.5 on a daily basis. does anyone know if this is available for the Storm 2 9550? if so where can i get it and how much does it cost?

I’ve had very few problems with my S2 since feb. However…I’ve had to reboot several times during the past week. Once, because dialing was very slow, and apps have been crashing. The only apps Ive loaded recently are Bing, VZNav, and Scanlife. I’ll be dumping Bing and VZnav right after I finish this post.

I still like my S2, but wish it would remain as stable as it used to be. Some people here think that all I ever do is claim the phone is perfect, but ANYONE who has read ALL my posts would KNOW that I sometimes post about problems, too. cheers!
