My storm turns on cause i see the light in back ground on. I also know its working cause even though i cant see pictures i take the camera does work and flash also. I also can make calls . Well the last call i made i can redial it only. I was thinking maybe i need to replace the lcd screen? Any ideas if the screen being replaced will slve my issue?

So i bought a 16gb micro sd for my storm 1. yeah it does not work. what am i doing wrong.

I got my 2nd Storm1 replacement phone about a week ago or so. I have two Plantronics bluetooth headsets paired to it. A few days after I set up the phone I noticed that I can no longer pick up calls with either headset. I have to answer the calls directly on the phone and after the call is answered, the headset will kick in. Any ideas on how to fix this?

One is the Plantronics Voyager Pro the other is a Plantronics 520

first, my phone was stolen from my house, and the **** returned it with a password that locked every minute and some nice dents in the phone.

Now one week later, I was on the internet, phone froze, pulled battery and now I am in a constant reboot. Of course the verizon store can not help, but will sell me a new phone.

I have tried some of the things posted on the web with no luck. The phone shuts off before any of the resets of the operating systems will work.

Please help me before I decide to go back to the 80’s and say bye to cell phones.

I m having Blackberry Storm 9530.
One day suddenly I noticed that my SMS n MMS icon is missing from the main menu.
I have tried all the Possible things. Its not hidden and showAll is already checked.
Also e-mail and SMS folder is seperate.
I have tried battery pull also.
After every battery pull, i get a weird popup saying Null Pointer Exception.
Can anybody plz Help. :(

Ok so I have unlocked my storm and can use it on T-Mobile however the data it rather crappy. I can’t seem to stay connected. I read somewhere that it’s the 5.0 OS, if this is the case if I downgrade should this fix the issue?

To downgrade I erase the 5.0 from my computer and install the 4.7?

Whats the best place to find older OS software

Whenever I tether or use an app like pandora the EDGE goes to edge. I have a Storm, unlocked to T-mobile with the blackberry data plan. I am on 5.0.0.328. Anyone have any tips or suggestions? Better OS maybe or settings? Am I doing something wrong? Thanks guys.

I need assistant. I unlock my storm and previously had it on tmobile. I was using a prepaid plan and the minutes ran out. I got a new sim card and did everything the tutorial on switching to tmobile post instructed. It work before on the old tmo sim card. I try both way the manual and using crackutl and everything is loaded as before BUT its not reading the sim card to connect to tmobile. Its still showing verizon as the network. Any idea appreciated and help,thx.:confused:

Hey all~ :) It has been awhile since I was last here. So much has changed! I am a first time mommy to a wonderful almost 2 yr old little boy now. :D

When I was last here, I was asking about the Curve. Now, I’ve gotten a Storm 9530. I purchased it from Ebay….so let’s keep our fingers crossed that it is all that the seller promises *supposed to be new in mint condition and unlocked etc*. It is a Verizon BB too.

I want to go to prepaid so I can control my budget a little better. Contract plan was just too high at times and now that it’s completed, I don’t want to go back to high monthly bills.

I am a single mother of a special needs child…I am working full time and going to classes to give us a better life. I am the sole supporter etc, so this is why it’s so important for me to figure this out so I can save money. I am hoping you all can help me.

Just wondering who I can go to for prepaid wervice without having to purchase an additional BB data plan with it?

Now, a friend of mine has an older model Curve on AT&T To Go…it is orginally a Verizon BB. He is always complaining that the minutes just don’t last like they should…he is also unable to use internet…

I know it can be done…but I’d like to be able to use data if I need to. I have checked out prices and Verizon is very expensive when it comes to prepaid plans as is AT&T.

Ntelos (Frawg) and Appalachian Wireless both have prepaid plans that seem to what I am looking for…. unlimited talk/text and web for $60/monthly. I have searched online but can’t seem to find an answer as to if my Storm can work with those.

So, that’s my question… What carriers/cell prepaid companies will let you transfer a BB Storm over to their services..and still give you a reasonable deal? THANKS SO MUCH!

I just got my Blackberry Storm 9530 off eBay a little over 2 weeks ago. I bought it unlocked so that I could use it with my T-Mobile contract. Today, the screen was being weird and when I touched it it thought different things were being touched and same thing when I clicked it down. I am fairly new to this phone and am wondering how I could fix it, or if a software upgrade could fix it. Also how could I do a software upgrade? Thank you in advance!

I have a BB 9500 and when the back light times out and I press any button or the screen to light it back up, only the little side lights come on. I backed it up and did a wipe after the soft Battery thing didn’t work. I then restored and after all that it does the exact same thing.
any other re-boots?? If I do another soft it will work fine as long as I keep the screen lit by doing something, just it won’t light up after the backlight timer turns it off. The phone works, I can answer calls.

ok…im sure this has been discussed about a million times..but im reading different stuff,and tried a few and none has worked….ok,,heres the deal….

my phone shut down…so..when i try to reset(take battery out and in) it goes to boot up…the lights on the 4 buttons turns on for a second…then goes black…then the red light comes on……this about 10 seconds later…it does it again,,and again,,and again…over and over…..BUT…..sometimes it if i reset from battery…the 4 lights will come on…and the ticker(clock thing) in the middle of the screen…just keeps ticking the timer…and never loads up at all……

i hooked this up to the computer,,from the usb…and i guess since its not powering up…the computer doesnt recognize it from the usb…..

what do i do? how can i wipe this clean and start over? or what do u think is wrong? please help if u can

Can’t seem to get more then 21M of app memory freed up. Have limited icons and deleted all unused apps but can’t seem to gain any app memory on my storm. Any thoughts? Thanx!

Ok, before anyone goes and starts flaming me or putting me down for whatever reason please hear me out. I know that opening my storm voids its warranty, i know that i should leave it to the professionals, i know there are other threads out there about problems related to opening the device. But mines a little different than what i’ve found on these forums.

I bought this phone off my friend because the digitizer screen was broken, so i decided to buy a new lcd/digitizer off of ebay. It came, i took the phone apart, was careful not to break the antenna, but i screwed up on the thing the antenna connects to that rests in the front bezel of the phone housing. It’s the little ribbon plug thing that you connect the antenna into, and it ripped off the bezel. I still have perfect reception and can make calls and do everything else I just can’t use the GPS. And i’m ok with that.

Fast forward a few days of using the thing, and i realize that every time the phone is lightly tapped or bumped (i’m talking i drop it 3 inches onto my bed) it shuts off completely then takes a good 3 or 4 minutes to boot up and restart.

Is it only this ribbon wire connection thing-a-ma-jig that i broke that is causing this, or could there be another loose wire or something else that i damaged for the phone to react in this way? I really like this phone, and can’t afford a new phone. But i can afford a $20 bezel on ebay that has the connection part in working condition. Should i buy? Or junk my phone on ebay and sell as parts?

I did some searching and haven’t been able to find the answer to my problem. My Storm was originally with Bell, and i unlocked it to use with Rogers. It works fine, except i can only get on EDGE and not 3G, and the CID doesn’t work properly. Most land-lines show up with a number and sometimes a name to go with them. Most cell phones just come up as Unknown. All the CID info used to show up with my last phone – this only started after switching to this unlocked Storm. The more confusing part is this – if i get a call from my gf while i have my storm connected to my bluetooth speaker in the car, the phone will show unknown, but the bluetooth will say "call from (gf’s name)" So, if the phone tells the bluetooth who’s calling, and the phone doesn’t know, then how can the bluetooth know? And here’s another one – i was on the phone with a buddy one day, and my gf called, so it came up as a call waiting – and her info showed up on the CID – yet the next time she called, when i wasn’t on the phone, it just said Unknown again. I don’t get it. Rogers can’t help, cuz they don’t carry the Storm, and it’s unlocked anyway. They did a netword reset for me twice and that made no difference. Does anybody here have any ideas? If i can’t get the CID to work properly, i’ll just cancel it – no sense paying for something that doesn’t work right.
