Celebrity Sighting: Jessica Alba seen rocking a BlackBerry Bold 9700
by Team CrackBerry on Sep.07, 2010, under BB Geeks, Help Forums
Its been a while since we’ve posted a celebrity sighting (aside from Kim Kardashian anyway). Here we have movie star Jessica Alba (Fantastic Four, Sin City) rocking what looks to be a T-Mobile Bold 9700. Kevin is a big fan of Jessicas (Jessica Alba, Jessica Simpson) and we applaud her for her choice of device – the Bold 9700 is the best BB on T-Mobile right now. But if you’re an AT&T user Jessica, you should maybe give that new Torch a try… afterall, were pretty sure RIM was handing them out to celebs for free just the other week.

I think this is some software or setting issue. If anyone has found a solution or has faced a similar problem, please let me know.
Better after-market 9700 battery?
by Ricky Beantown on Sep.06, 2010, under BB Geeks, Help Forums
Is there companies that sell some that are >1500mAh WITHOUT the need of a extended back door.
Would also like to know if they are worth it?
Thanks!
Strange sound issue
by Ricky Beantown on Sep.06, 2010, under BB Geeks, Help Forums
I had my BB on the normal sound profile (no vibrations). I received a text and the notice went off normally (the Sonic the Hedgehog ring "ding"). About 3 seconds after the ding, I got another text but the phone vibrated on that one. I’ve had that happen more than once. I checked my sound profile settings and under no circumstances is it set to vibrate.

I’m wondering if anyone out there has had any experience with this or if anyone might be able to help me at all. I am feeling rather stuck. I’m willing to try other applications and setting and whatnot. I just want to know if I’m either missing something here or if someone has had this same problem. I seriously need some major help.

New To Blackberry – Media Player Problem – Help!
by Ricky Beantown on Sep.06, 2010, under BB Geeks, Help Forums
First off, I have to say I’m absolutely in love with my Blackberry Bold 9700. Seriously, I understand the term "Crackberry" now. Can.Not.Put.It.Down.
I consider myself rather technologically savvy, which is why I’m resorting to all of YOUR expertise. I’m stumped.
My media player has been working fine lately – I have all my music in SDCARD/Blackberry/Music as instructed.
I recently downloaded and installed Waze (a sweet GPS program with voice prompts and turn by turn instructions). It prompted me tonight on my first use to download the English voice prompts, so I did, and didn’t think anything of it.
However, just a few hours ago, I was using my Media Player, and noticed all the prompt audio files were showing up in my Media Player! I hit Options and then Properties, and they are definitely stored in the Device Memory under the application Waze, and NOT on the SD card in the music directory.
So my question is this: why is the Media Player searching the entire phone for media files, and how do I change this?
My apologies if I didn’t get directly to the point, but I prefer to be as thorough as possible.
I have two options.
1). First, and what I hope to happen, someone finds a way to resolve this issue with a setting, or something I overlooked.
2). I use a different GPS program. I do NOT like Google Maps. The voice prompts were inconsistent, and never accurate. Tele-Nav is out of the question, because, frankly, I don’t want to pay $9.99/month for a subscription to something which was free when I had Sprint (I now have T-Mobile).
Thank you for taking the time to read this, and I look forward to your response(s).
Regards,
Eric Olsen

One last Newbie question for the night…
by Ricky Beantown on Sep.05, 2010, under BB Geeks, Help Forums
I’ve had several people ask me for my PIN the last 2 days. I know that is for BBM and all of that. But if I give a person my PIN, do they then have access to my contact information, full name, city, etc? I’m all about talking to cool people via BBM but I’m not all about creepers having too much information. I don’t want to end up with weird people calling me or knowing where I’m located. I know it seems stupid but we live in a world that this has to be on people’s minds.
Thanks!
